The German pavilion consists of a garden with the theme ‘Biotopia – Growing Community’. Come and take a look here during the Expo and be surprised by innovative solutions for a sustainable interaction between nature and the city.
The German garden
In the German garden you will discover vivid examples of modern resource-saving horticulture. You also get to see possibilities for green cities of the future in a playful way. The centerpiece of the garden consists of an open space surrounded by a wooden pavilion that symbolizes modern cities. The pavilion has a roof garden, solar panels, wind turbines, green facades, a water playground and much more.
There is a lot to see and do in the Germany pavilion! There is an interactive and changing cultural programme twice a month. Discover the overview on the pavilion’s website.
Through the planting of ornamental plants, horticultural crops, trees and wild flowers, the pavilion forms a living ecosystem whose appearance changes in the course of the Expo.
The pavilion represents a constantly growing and changing city. Due to climate change and a growing world population, keeping our cities liveable is a big challenge.
Upon entry, you receive a smart bracelet that enables you to activate the exhibits and create your individual vision of a green city of the future.
