Circular Cities and Food Innovations (2nd edition)
Monday 21 June 2021, Webinar
Can you help European cities reach their target of becoming climate-neutral by 2030? We are on the doorstep of the most critical challenge of all time. Now more than ever, we must deploy and execute projects with real and positive impact. With this in mind, the EU pursues the goal to have 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030.
From April 14, 2022, Almere will be the stage for six months for the world horticultural exhibition Floriade Expo 2022. The theme is “Growing Green Cities”. Dutch horticulture will then, together with national organisations and international participants, present innovations and solutions for sustainable and liveable cities. Two million national and international guests are expected to visit the world horticultural exhibition. Floriade will be an extraordinary experience: the greenest day out for young and old. Floriade Expo 2022 thus makes an important contribution to the Dutch horticultural sector, the tourism sector and the regional economy. A unique event, therefore, that is linked to the development of a sustainable residential area Hortus in which the physical architecture and green living environment seamlessly merge and merge with technological possibilities. Sustainable innovation, with a focused view of the future of Almere, the expansion of the city with approximately 60,000 homes and approximately 100,000 inhabitants and its (growth) ambitions inextricably linked to it.
With more than 100 international delegates coming to Almere and the Floriade in 2022, and a potential of 1.5 million visitors in the course of the expo, it offers an unique playground and opportunity for organisations, start-ups, investors and more to connect to innovations within cities. It is our ambition to explore potential partnership with European based SME’s, corporates and knowledge institutes.
