Floriade Dialogues on Biophilic Design

This Floriade Dialogue edition is all about about the effect of biophilic design on human health. How designing with natural materials and by using vegetation and certain strategies, our genetic link with nature gets triggered. What eventually shows the results in people feeling more healthy, productive and rejuvenated. This webinar is organised in a series of two Floriade Dialogues sessions about Biophilic Design from the Natural Pavilion at the Floriade Expo 2022. You are invited to either join this Dialogue at the Natural Pavilion or online.

In this edition, Hakim El Amrani of Studi Nousnous will moderate and address the topic of biophilic design on a bigger scale (green cities). Hakim will give an introduction in-depth lectures on Biophilic Design & Biophilic Cities

Changing personal spatial circles

The transition to healthy green cities is moving, although too slow. We need people that embrace cities that flourish and tackle the problems of climate change; urban heat island effects, CO2 problems, reduction of health and wellbeing. But how? What can we do? It all starts within the influence you have within your own spatial circle: your room, your house and home environment, your office and your urban area and street. It all starts small and it slowly builds up and resonates to neighbourhoods and eventually cities. Also this Dialogue will discuss how biophilic design (the methodology based on biophilia) can be the answer for our health- problems.

Methodologies, interventions and scales

This Floriade Dialogue Webinar will discuss the status and last innovations in medium too big scale biophilic ideas and projects. It will foresee the impact of these biophilic design projects on its users and handle different methodologies on ‘touch-points’ that manifests itself as an eco-glue to connect small interventions and designs to bigger green and blue biophilic cities and evidence based design: our innate love for nature and its systems. The session will be moderated by Hakim El Amrani of biophilic spatial design studio: Studio NousNous.
