International Information Day


In this afternoon’s program foreign ambassadors representing their countries in The Netherlands, were invited and informed about this seventh edition of the Floriade Expo, which will take place in 2022 in Almere. In July 2018 all represented countries have been officially invited to take part in Expo 2022 Floriade Amsterdam-Almere by the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Mrs Carola Schouten, on behalf of the Government of the Netherlands.


This afternoon program provided information on the seventh Floriade explaining the Growing Green Cities theme of this A1-level, world horticultural exhibition. Also opportunities to participate in Expo 2022 Floriade Amsterdam-Almere and the economic benefits of participation were discussed. The afternoon included an in-depth discussion on several aspects of “Green Cities of the future” and participation opportunities in this A1 world horticultural exhibition.

Session participants

With 95 participants – including 75 ambassadors and embassy representers of 55 countries – this 4th edition focused on (National) considerations regarding the Floriade themes and on active country involvement in the Floriade Program towards 2022 and beyond. Some of the represented countries were:  Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile. China, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, El Salvador, Estland, Georgia, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malaysia,Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Romania, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Sweden, Swiss Confederation, Thailand, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
