Floriade Expo 2022
Floriade Expo 2022 will be an extraordinary expo. For six months the attention to the theme ‘Growing Green Cities’ will be focused on the cities of the future. Visitors will have a unique and meaningful experience: while visiting the expo they will be invited to ‘explore, touch and change’.
This expo will also be the start of a new city district close to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Almost everything that will be built for the exhibition will become part of the legacy of Almere. The structures will remain and become part of the community. As part of this innovative exhibition concept, Floriade Expo 2022 will stimulate innovation and the development of solutions that can benefit us all. It will be a living laboratory and a platform for smart solutions.
Floriade Expo 2022 is an A1 international horticultural exhibition, accredited on 1 September 2015 by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH). Floriade Expo 2022 was recognized on 15th November 2017 as an official A1 horticultural exhibition by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
Commissioner General of Expo 2022 Floriade Almere is Annemarie Jorritsma-Lebbink. She is former mayor of Almere, former minister and prime-minister of the Netherlands. She has been appointed by Dutch Minister Schouten of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality op 4 September 2018.
